With the increase in domestic violence during isolation period, OUR WATCH hopes to call on active male bystanders aged 25-34 to act in a moment of violence. However, the reasons for most positive bystanders choosing to be silent might because of ‘Bystanders Effect’.

1/ Ambiguity. The more ambiguous the situation the less likely people will intervene.

2/ Group cohesiveness. When other observers fail to react, individuals often take this as a signal that a response is not needed or not appropriate.

3/ Diffusion of responsibility.

From those insights, we decide our big idea to call on the male bystanders to Break the Silence. Stop the Violence.

According to the survey of the Use of Social networking sites in Australia 2019, we will publish our four executions through the four channels Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube, which are 4 popular social media platforms.

Three Digital Posters:

1/ Silence can be lethal.

A woman was shrouded in huge black shadows and sent out for help in front of the window. Outside the window many people passed by the woman, but no one stopped. The dynamic crowd outside the window explains the indifference of bystanders, so as to express our idea: Although you did not deal with the victim, your indifference can be lethal.

2/ Grip her hands. Put her out.

A man's hand held a woman's hand through the wall, and the woman's hand was scarred. The hand that broke the wall calls on all young male bystanders to be brave in taking action when the domestic violence happens.

3/ Any evidence you record will save her from hell.

A man is recording evidence of domestic violence in the house opposite. Sometimes the abuser avoids punishment for lack of evidence. It is helpful to take evidence before the police arrive.

One Digital Video in YouTube:

- Not Fantasy But Action.

In the video, a young male was walking a dog, heard the sound from the roadside house, and saw the domestic violence through the window. He imagined that he took out his mobile phone to call the police to rescue the victim, but in fact he chose to ignore it and move on. Through this subversion of normal thinking, the audience's thinking is triggered: whether to be a person who only stays in the fantasy like the video or a person who makes actual actions.
